FootballEdson Castillo: Kaizer Chiefs Desperate to Sell Key Player, Slash R10m From Asking Price
- Edson Castillo has continued to impress for South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs this season
- The Venezuelan defender is on the radar of some African clubs including Zamalek of Egypt
- Chiefs have reportedly lowered the asking price for the midfielder ahead of the transfer window
Premier Soccer league giants, Kaizer Chiefs, seem to be prepared to sell key midfielder Edson Castillo during the summer transfer window.
Amakhosi has been fighting off interest in the Venezuelan international who has just spent one season with the club.
The 29-year-old was the standout performer for the club during the first stanza this season, having adjusted well to the South African topflight.
Castillo joined the Naturena outfit from Monagas SC and has already hit the ground running for Chiefs.

His impact for the PSL side in the midfield has been sensational, as he also helps in the attack and defence.
The impressive star has made some big tackles, quality passes and even scoring himself, netting five goals in all competitions for the club.
The South African earlier reported that Egyptian outfit, Zamalek, made enquiries about the player earlier in the year.
At the time, it was understood that Amakhosi wanted a staggering R40 million for him.
However, in a surprise turn of events, fresh reports claim Chiefs have slashed the price for Castillo. A source told Soccer Laduma:
“It seems Zamalek are not scared by the price tag which is around R30 million. You are aware that Egyptian teams are well funded and even the owners there have a good financial standing, so they are not scared to approach Chiefs even if the price tag is up there. Even when it comes to salaries they are not bad at all.

Having just returned from international duty, Castillo will have a few days more of rest, due to a suspension. Accumulated yellow cards will see him sit out Chiefs’ away game to Cape Town City.
Pitso Mosimane linked with Kaizer Chiefs move
Pitso Mosimane's wife and agent, Moira Tlhagale, listed her husband's requests amid interest from other clubs, with Kaizer Chiefs at the forefront.
After staying months without a managerial role, the South African tactician signed a short-term deal with a Saudi Professional League side, Abha Club, in January.
The 59-year-old might get a contract extension from the Saudi club if he saves the Leaders of South from being relegated to the lower division.
