FootballSenegal Coach Aliou Cisse Celebrates New Milestone With Victory Over Benin in Friendly
- Aliou Cisse has reached a century of games as Senegal's coach

- Cisse has been coach of Senegal since 2015, winning AFCON 2021
Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has reached a new milestone after leading the Teranga Lions to victory over Benin in an international friendly in France.
The former Senegal captain supervised his hundredth game as the coach of the former African champion as they defeated the Squirrels in Amiens.
Sadio Mane netted the only goal from the spot as the 2021 African champions bounced back from the 2023 AFCON disappointment.
"I didn't know I reached 100 matches. We're already talking about longevity, perhaps on the continent, but I don't think I'm the only coach to stay in office for more than five or ten years," said Cisse after the game, as quoted by Wiw Sport.

"You know, the selections have changed, you have to take that into account. Today we cannot train a team and after two years achieve a result. Now we have these results, we know our group because we have been here for a while," he added.
Senegal were flawless in March's international break, beating Gabon and Benin without conceding a goal.
"I would first like to congratulate the whole team because it was indeed important, as you say, to bounce back after the last CAN episode. That's what we did! This truce allowed us to reopen the group, to give playing time to all the players who were there – except of course the players who are injured," added the gaffer.
Cisse will be hoping to lead Senegal to another World Cup when they regroup in June for the matches against DR Congo and Mauritania, per US Soccerway.

The Al-Nassr star scored the only goal as Senegal defeated Benin in Amiens to wrap up their preparations for June's World Cup qualifiers.
The former Liverpool winger was also on target as the 2021 Africa champions thrashed Gabon last Friday.
