One of the highest paid players for the Ethiopian Premier League, Alelegn Azene, has passed away amid claims that he took his own life overnight.
The Ethiopian Premier League has been thrown into mourning following the death of the promising talent.
This comes just two weeks after he officially got married to his lover in a well attended ceremony in his home country.
Azene, who played in the midfield for Bahir Dar City, had been impressive for the club scoring important goals.

The report from Balageru indicated that he wedded just ten days earlier, in the traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church – taking communion, Borkena reports.
While the specific arrangement is yet unknown, it is confirmed that his remains will be laid to rest in Arba Minch, where he was born 26 years ago, on Wednesday.
Ex-CAF media expert Collins Okinyo confirmed the tragic news when he wrote on his X handle:

Sports Brief earlier reported that AmaZulu FC forward, Bonginkosi Ntuli tragically lost his battle with cancer.
The 32-year-old, who was also captain of the club, passed away at the Midlands Medical Centre in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday afternoon.
The striker was rushed to the private hospital just before a game against Polokwane City around a month ago, where he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
