- Marcis Oss blindly passed into his own net against Liechtenstein on Tuesday
- The record for the fastest own goal in history is believed to be held by Pat Kruse
Latvia conceded a goal just 14 seconds into their friendly match against Liechtenstein, marking one of the worst own goals in history.
The two teams faced off at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium on Tuesday (March 26), with the away side quickly taking a 1-0 lead.
However, that was the result of a total giveaway by Latvia defender, Marcis Oss, who had an evening he certainly would want to forget.
After the kick-off, the hosts confidently circulated the ball, with the centre-back in possession.

In an attempt to pass back to his goalkeeper, Oss neglected to check his surroundings and failed to realise he had shifted a couple of yards.
He then inadvertently directed the ball into his own net in a truly calamitous moment reminiscent of Sunday League mishaps.
Adding to the hilarity of the situation, Liechtenstein's players had the nerve to celebrate wildly and swarm their striker, despite him playing no role in forcing the mistake.
However, Latvia managed to equalise in the 11th minute through Raimonds Krollis, per GOAL.
The record for the fastest own goal in history is believed to be held by Pat Kruse of Torquay United against Cambridge United back in 1977, scoring just eight seconds into the match by inadvertently putting the ball into his own net, SportBible reported.

FootballThe 30-year-old was a consistent pain for Three Lions defender, Lewis Dunk, and it showed when the Brighton man failed to deal with the forward in the 36th minute.
Lukaku, who turns out for AS Roma, expertly controlled the ball before delivering a devilish cross with the outside of the boot for Youri Tielemans to score in the friendly.
