Kaizer Chiefs legend, Doctor Khumalo, has commented on recent rumours linking Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, with Tunisia ahead of the Algeria clash.

Reports have it that the Belgian boss has agreed to a deal with the Tunisian Football Federation to become the next coach of the Eagles of Carthage.

The TFF parted ways with Jalel Kadri after he failed to see the Tunisian national team through to the knockout stages at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Montasser Louhichi is currently managing the 2004 AFCON winners on an interim basis, but the Carthage Eagles would be seeking a new permanent coach to replace Kadri.

In an interview with SoccerZone, as per iDiskiTimes, Khumalo insisted that the South African national team would miss the former Club Brugge manager if the rumours were true.

"We would miss him when he is gone," he said. "It finally looks like we're going somewhere; we are going where he wants. We're no longer talking about development but progression; the national team is progressing."

The Kaizer Chiefs legend added:

"The boys that came onboard for these two friendly games - we don't know what will transpire against Algeria - but against Andorra, I was happy with 60-70% of the players."

South Africa will host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations winners at the Nelson Mandela Stadium on Tuesday evening for their last international friendly game of this break.

Williams defends Broos' decision against Andorra

Sports Brief earlier reported on Ronwen Williams backing Hugo Broos' decision to start a much-changed Bafana Bafana team against Andorra.

The South African national team were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw against the 164th-ranked European minnows in a friendly on Friday, March 22.

Most of the players who started in the third-place AFCON 2023 playoff against DR Congo did not feature against Andorra due to a rotation.
