With the defender’s induction cementing his legacy as one of the greats, Sports Brief looks at the four Chelsea players entering the exclusive list.

4 Chelsea Hall of Fame inductees

Ashley Cole

The Englishman played 15 years in the top flight, running out in the colours of Arsenal at first, before joining their London rivals.

Making his debut in 1999, he played 156 games for the Gunners in the league before making a further 228 appearances for the Blues.

Cole enjoyed great success with both sides, winning three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.

Petr Cech

One of only two keepers on the list, Cech was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023.

Like Cole, Cech also played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the league, making a combined 443 appearances. He played 333 games for Chelsea and a further 110 games for Arsenal.

The Czech Republic keeper won the EPL four times with Chelsea and still holds the record for most clean sheets in Premier League history.

Didier Drogba

Drogba, one of the London-based side’s most lethal strikers, was inducted into the EPL Hall of Fame in 2022.

The Ivory Coast international made 254 appearances for the Blues, scoring 104 goals and notching up 64 assists.

Like Cech, Drogba won the league title four times and the league’s Golden Boot award twice.

Drogba enjoyed two separate spells in the league with Chelsea, but left the club for good in 2015, Sky Sports reported.

Frank Lampard

The former player and manager made 429 appearances in the league for Chelsea, but his Premier League legacy wasn’t based solely on his stint with the one side.

Lampard scored 177 goals and amassed 112 assists in the EPL, having played for the Blues, West Ham United, and Manchester City.

Having played 609 games in the EPL, Lampard has made the fourth most appearances in the league’s history, the Premier League website confirmed.

Cole’s passionate speech goes viral

Sports Brief previously reported how Cole gave a rousing speech to Chelsea’s defenders before a UEFA Champions League game against Real Madrid.

The Blues took on the Spanish giants for the second leg of a quarter-final tie, having lost the first leg to Carlo Ancelotti’s men 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Cole, who was part of Chelsea’s management team at the time, was seen passionately speaking to defenders during the clash, with his speech soon going viral.
