  • Zinedine Zidane has been touted as a possible replacement for ten Hag
  • Ten Hag is facing an uncertain future with EPL giants Manchester United
  • Zidane has been in the cold since 2021 when he quit as Real Madrid boss

France legend Zinedine Zidane has opened up on major drawbacks blocking him from taking the role of manager at Manchester United.

This comes at a time when the current manager, Erik Ten Hag, is under fire after recording a not-so-good second leg with the Red Devils.

With Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking over as the minority owner at the club, a number of managers have been linked to take over from ETH.

According to Sky Sports, Ratcliffe does not have confidence in ten Hag to take United back to its glory.

A number of top names, including Zidane and Gareth Southgate, have since been floated as possible replacements for the Dutchman.

What must happen for Zizou to take United job

Appreciating the fact that he might not be able to work everywhere, Zidane has regrettably said that language barrier is one of the key issues preventing his move to Old Trafford.

Despite understanding English, the French has said that he is yet to fully master the language, which he believes will be a major ingredient if he is to succeed at his job.

“For other reasons, too, I might not be able to go everywhere. Which ones? The language, for example. Certain conditions make things more difficult. I know that there are coaches who go to clubs without speaking the language, but I work differently. To win, many elements come into play. It's a global context. Me, I know what I need to win” Zidane said via Marca.

The former France star has also alluded to the fact that Manchester United players and overall management have to have a winning mentality if he is to lead the club.

Zinedine has been in the cold since 2021 when he left his role as manager at Real Madrid.
