Manchester City's hopes for the Premier League title have taken a hit as Kyle Walker was forced off with an injury during the match against Brazil.

Walker, who had taken on the captain's armband in the absence of the injured Harry Kane, had to leave the field after just 19 minutes.

Walker appeared to injure himself after clearing the ball off the line after Vinicius Jr. poked the ball past Jordan Pickford.

The City star collected the ball calmly before clearing - only to hit the back of Harry Maguire's head.

The right-back then went to ground during the next break in play and was treated by physios.

He could be seen stretching out his right leg but appeared to be in some discomfort as he lay on the turf.

Walker then walked to the touchline where he sprinted up and down to try and get over his niggle.

But moments after he returned to the pitch he signalled to come off and was seen clutching his hamstring.

That will be a blow for City in their title charge as Walker has missed just two Premier League games for Pep Guardiola's side this campaign.

The Citizens face Arsenal in their first game back from the international break and Walker will not be a doubt for that fixture.
