Nigeria defeated their fiercest rivals, Ghana, in an international friendly played at the Stade de Marrakech on Friday, March 22.

Ghana finished the game with 10 men after the centre referee sent Jerome Opoku off for two bookable offences.

Finidi George opens up on Ghana friendly

Sports Brief previously reported that Finidi George insisted that an international friendly between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Super Eagles of Nigeria is beyond 'friendly' due to the rivalry between the two nations.

The last time the two sides met, Ghana edged Nigeria on away goal rule to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

However, the Super Eagles seem to be on the ascendency after reaching the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost to the host nation, Ivory Coast.
