FootballKylian Mbappe: Thierry Henry Praises PSG Star Amid Quest to Have Him at Paris 2024
- Thierry Henry has called Kylian Mbappe 'extraordinary'
- Mbappe is widely considered as the best player in the world
- Henry hopes to have him available for the Paris 2024 Olympics
Thierry Henry has lavished praise on Kylian Mbappe as the French star continues to get plaudits for his world-class performances.
Mbappe is perceived to be the best player worldwide, following Lionel Messi's and Cristiano Ronaldo's exits from Europe.
He won the World Cup in 2018 and almost led France to a successful title defence four years later with a memorable hattrick in the final.
Thierry Henry's achievements
There have been comparisons between him and Henry, who is considered one of the greatest French players ever. Henry made his name at Arsenal, where he was a runner-up to the Ballon d'Or in 2003. He was also part of Arsene Wenger's squad, which won the 2004 Premier League season unbeaten.

The forward then moved to Camp Nou, where he featured for Pep Guardiola's all-dominating team in 2009. He also won the World Cup with France in 1998, among other achievements, as quoted by Transfermakt.
Now a pundit, Henry has insisted that Mbappe has already surpassed him at every level, calling him 'extraordinary'.
"He has already overtaken me! It’s already done. Kylian is already in the future and that’s good anyway because he’s France, he’s our football and we need this guy who represents us kind of everywhere. Kylian is extraordinary. He’s mad," he said to Le Parisien via Goal.
Mbappe is expected to quit Paris Saint-Germain and move to Real Madrid this summer.
Henry hopeful of Mbappe's involvement in Paris
At the same time, Sports Brief reported that Henry remained adamant that he would have Mbappe on his squad for the Paris Olympics.
