Modric, who won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, is out of contract in the summer and there are no indications that Los Blancos will renew his deal.
He has enjoyed a lot of success as a Real Madrid player, and still has the chance to end the season on a high as Carlo Ancelotti’s side are fighting for the La Liga and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
There is no doubt that Modric is a modern-day legend at Real Madrid, but in a recent interview while in Dubai, the Croatian admitted it would be difficult to continue playing at the Santiago Bernabeu because of the lofty standards at the club.

“I love football and I want to continue playing football. The mentality and pressure at Real Madrid is very different, you have to be on top,” he said as quoted on Madrid Universal.
“The ambition is to keep winning with Real Madrid, when you win here you want to keep achieving more. This is my thinking,”

While the Croatian’s future is the subject of mass speculation, there is no telling where his career will go next.
