Excitement filled the air after Real Madrid's creative midfielder, Brahim Díaz, announced his decision to join the Morocco national team.

Born in Malaga to a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father, Díaz has long been a rising star in the football world.

Despite representing Spain at various youth levels and earning one cap for the senior side, the 24-year-old recently pledged his international allegiance to the Atlas Lions.

In a captivating video shared on social media by EuroFoot, Díaz can be seen immersing himself in Moroccan culture, dancing alongside local entertainers. The 2022 World Cup semi-finalists are scheduled to play friendly matches against Angola and Mauritania later this month.

Addressing his decision, the creative midfielder said he never pressured or demanded to play for the European nation.

"I have never pressured anyone to play for Spain, and I never will. I speak on the field. The field is where one is good and where merits are accumulated. I do not feel addressed if De La Fuente was referring to me. At no time do I pressure or demand anyone. That's not my case. I'm not that type of person, “ he said, as quoted by Marca.

Expressing gratitude for the appreciation and affection of the two nations, he described his deep-rooted connection to both. He affirmed his decision to play for the North African nation, dismissing any notion of regret or haste in his choice.

“I feel 100% Spanish and I feel 100% Moroccan. I grew up in Spain. If I have to score a goal for Spain, I’d be delighted, of course, but I’d also prefer to score for another national team,” he explained, as reported by Morocco World News.

Diaz scores superb goal against Leipzig

Sports Brief reported that Diaz electrified the pitch with a sensational goal, propelling Los Blancos into the lead against RB Leipzig in a Champions League round of 16 clash.

Following a cautious first half, both teams entered the break deadlocked at 0-0.

However, four minutes into the second half, Diaz orchestrated a moment of brilliance to break the stalemate.
