Super Falcons of Nigeria star, Asisat Oshoala, etched her name into football's history books as she became the first official National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) goalscorer of the newly acquired club, Bay FC.
The 29-year-old, who completed a reported $150,000 transfer to the US-based club from Barcelona Feminino, sent fans of the club into a frenzy after opening the scoring in the 17th minute in her side's victory away at Angel City FC.
The strike from the marquee forward would prove to be the winner on the night, as coach Albertin Montoya's side did enough to see out the remainder of the game.
However, in the aftermath of this groundbreaking match, Oshoala graciously shared her thoughts with the media about her historic goal.

Oshoala speaks on her Bay FC goal
As captured by Score Nigeria, the six-time Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women's Player of the Year stated:
“My career has been all about making history, doing crazy things, and I’m very happy to be part of the history of the club,” said Oshoala.
Bay FC, established in April 2023, now sit in fourth place on the NWSL table following their recent triumph.
