Jamie Carragher’s response
The tweet caught the attention of Jamie Carragher, who was obviously not pleased to see his former side’s quadruple hopes come to an end.
Carragher responded to Ferdinand’s tweet with a brutal claim, suggesting that United would suffer heartbreak in the final courtesy of their local rivals Manchester City.
"Relax. Manchester City will beat you comfortably in the final & ETH [Erik ten Hag] will still be in charge next season,” the ex-Liverpool man responded, per talkSPORT
"It’s not the win you think it is!!"
The former Liverpool man’s tweet was also a subtle dig at Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea as he suggested the Blues would not make the final despite their decent run in the competition this season.
Who will Man United face in the semis?
The win over Liverpool could be the boost Erik ten Hag needs to save what has been an extremely disappointing season.
