- He endured a torrid start to the season, and at the time of his sacking, Spurs were 14th in the Premier League

- A number of clubs have already emerged as favorites to take up the now unemployed Pochettino

Tottenham have parted ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino, with the club 14th in the Premier League.

Pochettino leaves the club just months after guiding them to a historic Champions League final.

The 47-year old has seen his side endure a spectacular dip in form for the 2019/2020 season particularly in the league, with Spurs sitting dangerously in 14th place, 11 points off Champions League places.

Spurs have since released a statement thanking Pochettino for an illustrious five years with them.

According to club chairman Daniel Levy, the club were “extremely reluctant” to make the decision to part ways with Pochettino.

"It falls on the board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the club's best interests." Levy said in a statement.

TUKO.co.ke has further learnt that Pochettino's staff including assistant Jesus Perez, and coaches Miguel dAgostino and Anthony Jimenez have also departed.
