Harambee Stars captain and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Victor Wanyama, met Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen offices on Thursday, July 11.

Wanyama met the deputy President following Kenya's exit from the Africa Cup of Nations 2019, after failing to progress further than the group stages in Egypt.

Accompanying Wanyama was his brother and fellow defensive midfielder Mcdonald Mariga, who is currently without club.

The meeting also included organisers of the Wanyama Roya Charity Cup, a tournament aimed at identifying and developing young talent in the country.

TUKO.co.ke previously reported that the Harambee Stars captain believes the team gave their best during in Egypt despite crashing out in the first round of the tournament.

Kenya collected a single victory in their three Group C fixtures to finish third with three points.

The team lost 2-0 in their group opener against Algeria, before staging a dramatic 3-2 comeback to against Tanzania.
