- Mchunu changed his plea to guilty after the female Pirates official submitted her evidence
AmaZulu's matchday security officer, Smanga Mchunu, has been suspended from all football-related activities for three months following a disciplinary hearing by the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Mchunu was found guilty of inappropriate comments towards a female Orlando Pirates official.
The PSL deemed the comments 'suggestive, discriminatory, and disrespectful'.
Initially, the officer pleaded not guilty to the charges. However, after the female Buccaneers official presented her evidence, he changed his plea and apologised.

"The nature of the complaint was comments of an unsavoury, unwelcome, discriminatory, and derogatory nature directed at the female official," stated PSL prosecutor, Zola Majavu, as reported by Far Post.
Mchunu's suspension is just one part of the PSL's disciplinary action. Usuthu have also been ordered to send all staff within their security and communications departments for mandatory diversity and gender sensitivity training.
The PSL opted not to impose a fine on the club in recognition of the potential financial burden associated with the training program. However, they will be responsible for covering some of the costs incurred during the disciplinary hearing.
Majavu stressed the seriousness of the offense, saying the PSL would treat such behaviour with the severity it deserves. As part of the disciplinary measures, AmaZulu have been directed to issue a written apology to the league and its sponsors, and publish it on their website within seven days.
This incident comes on the heels of the club’s recent 1-1 draw against SuperSport United in the DSTV Premiership, as reported by SNL24. Their next match is against Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16, scheduled for Thursday, March 14.
