“A proper derby, no? It’s changes in the score, with moments for both teams. I think both teams competed the way you must in the derby. I don’t know why people are now upset. I think Chiefs did a good game," said Riveiro, as quoted by Independent Online.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi head coach, Cavin Johnson, lamented his team's defensive lapses, attributing the loss to conceding soft goals. Despite a promising first-half performance that saw them take a 2-1 lead, Chiefs failed to maintain their momentum.

“Congratulations to Pirates for stealing the points. We played a very good first half, and in the second half we played in patches but we did not maintain what we had," Johnson said, as reported by The Citizen.
