  • Alex Iwobi, who was part of Nigeria's campaign at AFCON 2023, named his favourite music artiste
  • The Fulham midfielder has suggested that his best Nigerian singer has more vibes than Burna Boy
  • Iwobi, however, has admitted that Burna Boy's track titled 'Last Last' was a sensational hit song

Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, sparked reactions when he named his favourite Nigerian music artiste.

The Fulham of England midfielder faced a tough time at the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

He was criticised after Nigeria lost the final match 2-1 to the hosts, forcing him to delete all his photos from Instagram.

Iwobi seems to have moved on as he also found the back of the net in Fulham's 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

And now, the former Arsenal star has described Wizkid as his favourite Nigerian artist.

During an episode of ‘Would You Rather’, the 27-year-old stated that Wizkid’s vibes capture his attention more than that of Burna Boy, but admitted that 'Odogwu's 'Last Last' hit track was a massive hit. He said, as per Complete Sports:

“I prefer Nigerian music to English. Wizkid is my favourite Nigerian artiste. I feel him more than Burna [Boy].
“I have always been a big fan of Wizkid.”

'Ojuelegba' crooner Wizkid, who prefers to be known as 'BigWiz' is arguably one of Nigeria's greatest music exports.

He was the first male artist to receive a Grammy award for his hit collaboration Brown Skin Girl which he received alongside the queen of Pop, Beyonce.

Iwobi Wins Goal of the Month Award

Sports Brief earlier reported that Iwobi emerged victorious over competition from his Nigerian teammate, Calvin Bassey, as well as Rodrigo Muniz, Callum Osmand, Lemar Gordon, and Georgia Heasman to claim the Goal of the Month Award.

His goal received 57.2% of the fan vote, eclipsing Muniz's lob at Burnley, which secured second place with only 13% of the votes.

Since joining the Cottagers on deadline day, the former Arsenal midfielder has contributed to five goals in 22 games across all competitions
