Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will face off for the final time in the Premier League on Sunday when Manchester City travel to Anfield to keep a date with Liverpool.

Per The Guardian, the Spaniard joked he would sleep better when the former Borussia Dortmund boss leaves but admitted he is his greatest rival and will be missed.

Sports Brief looks at the German manager's best rivals.

Klopp's greatest rivals

1. Pep Guardiola

Per Transfermarkt, the two have faced off 29 times, more than any other manager the 56-year-old has, with the 30th meeting set for Sunday. Klopp has won 12 times, while Guardiola won 11 times, with the other six games ending in a draw.

The rivalry began during their time as Bayern Munich and Dortmund managers. They have faced in a final five times with three victories for the former Mainz defender and two for his opponent.

2. Thomas Tuchel

The pair are two of the best active German managers in football and have a shared history. Tuchel succeeded Klopp at Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund. They have faced off 19 times, with the Reds boss winning 11, the former Blues boss winning 3, and five ending in a draw.

Their last two meetings were in the finals of the FA and Carabao Cups in 2022 at Wembley Stadium, which Liverpool won on penalties.

3. Jose Mourinho

The Special One has faced the former right-back 13 times and came out with only two victories, four draws and seven defeats. The biggest game between the two was the 2012/13 UEFA Champions League semi-final, which Borussia Dortmund won 4-3 on aggregate against Real Madrid. He handed Mourinho a 3-1 loss before he was sacked at Manchester United in 2018.

4. Carlo Ancelotti

The Italian manager is a nightmare for Klopp. They have met 13 times, with seven victories for Ancelotti, three draws and three defeats. The last four games have ended in a win for Don Carlo, including the 2022 UEFA Champions League final.

5. Ralf Rangnick

Per DW Sports, Klopp and Tuchel are students of Ralf Rangnick's gegenpressing, with the latter working directly with the former Schalke 04 boss. The Liverpool boss has faced his mentor 14 times, beat him thrice, lost six times, and drawn five games. Their most high-profile meeting was the German Super Cup final, in which Schalke beat Dortmund 4-3.

Best players of Klopp's Liverpool era

Sports Brief previously analysed the seven best players of Klopp's Liverpool era after the manager announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is arguably the best player to play for the manager at Merseyside, alongside his attacking partners Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
