Carragher's prediction comes at a time when Arsenal are in hot form, having recently secured a record-breaking win against Sheffield United.
Mikel Arteta's charges hammered the Blades 6-0 on Monday night at Bramall Lane.
The victory saw the north Londoners become the first English team to win three consecutive games by five or more goals.
Carragher predicts EPL title race
Sportskeeda reports that Carragher had previously appeared to suggest Liverpool would win this season's title race.
Speaking on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, the legendary defender said:
"Liverpool can win the league from the bench because Klopp always uses five subs."
However, the former England international has seemingly retracted that prediction via his X account and instead backed City to win the EPL title for the fourth consecutive season.
"I think Man City will win the league & at no point last night did I say Liverpool will," he clarified.

FootballSupercomputer predicts EPL table
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on a supercomputer predicting how the final Premier League table could look at the end of the season following Arsenal's record-breaking 6-0 win over Sheffield United.
A goal each from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Ben White earned the Gunners yet another momentous win.
The scoreline saw the north Londoners become the only English league team to win in three successive away games by five or more goals.
