  • Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane called out Jamie Carragher for lying
  • Carragher had told viewers he had spoken to Kane before the Lazio game
  • Kane bagged a brace in the match to help Bayern qualify for the quarters

Harry Kane linked up with CBS Sports 'Dream Team' minutes after starring for Bayern Munich in their second-leg Champions League clash against Lazio.

Kane scored twice to help the Bavarians overturn a first-leg deficit and book their place in the quarter-finals. The result was a welcome relief to departing head coach Thomas Tuchel, who has struggled to produce desirable results this season.

Bayern Munich vs Lazio match report

The former Tottenham man glanced Raphaël Guerreiro's scuffed shot past Ivan Provedel for his first of the night. Thomas Muller then similarly flicked a brilliant Matthijs de Ligt curler into the back of the net before Kane rounded off the comfortable win with a tap-in late in the second half.

The Three Lions captain joined Kate Abdo for post-match reactions. The presenter was, as usual, flanked by legends of the game: Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

What Kane said about Carragher

Carragher had earlier told his colleagues that he had spoken to Kane before the game - a fact that Abdo wanted Kane to confirm. The 30-year-old denied he had spoken to the Liverpool legend.

"That is false. We are friends but I am not gonna lie on national TV."

Here is the clip of that hilarious interaction.

Beaten and busted, Carragher admitted that he just wanted to 'look cool' to his viewers. Kane has now scored 34 goals in 33 appearances for Bayern Munich this season.

The Bundesliga appears to be out of their reach, with Bayer Leverkusen leading the fray with 10 points and ten games left to play.

Mbappe magic in Spain

In another game, Kylian Mbappe ripped the net for his first goal for PSG in their second-leg encounter with Real Sociedad.

Sports Brief has reported that the Real Madrid-bound striker scored twice as PSG eliminated the Spanish side 4-1 on aggregate to qualify for their third quarter-final in the last eight seasons.
