  • Tension is simmering as TS Galaxy gears up to take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the PSL

TS Galaxy boss, Sead Ramovic, has decided against adding more tension after his recent clash with Mamelodi Sundowns head coach, Rulani Mokwena.

The Rockets were riding high on a four-match winning streak until their 2-0 defeat to Cape Town Spurs on Sunday, March 3, setting the stage for an intriguing showdown against the Brazilians in the DSTV Premiership.

Despite the anticipation surrounding the feud between the German and the South African, the TS Galaxy boss said he is focused solely on preparing his team for the clash on Wednesday, March 6.

"I think we talked a lot during the last days, and I don’t have the energy to talk about him or talk about anything. I just want to prepare my team and try to win the game again. And then we will get attention again," Ramovic said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

Addressing concerns about the financial disparity between his team and the league leaders, Ramovic emphasised his squad's determination to compete at their best.

The Ramovic vs Mokwena feud

The rift between Ramovic and Mokwena stemmed from allegations made by the former regarding a conversation between Mokwena and South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos.

According to Goal, the 71-year-old reportedly likened the Sundowns coach to a 'local Mourinho' who 'pretended to be God'.

Ramovic vehemently denied Mokwena's claims and challenged the accuracy of his narrative. He even shared details of his conversation with Broos, casting doubt on the Masdadawana manager's credibility.

Criticism was also directed at the Sundowns coach for his behaviour, particularly his intrusion into the Bafana Bafana dressing room after the AFCON 2023 match against DR Congo.

Ramovic criticises SA football pundits

Sports Brief also reported that Ramovic strongly criticised football experts for failing to recognise his team's achievements this season.

Despite being seventh on the PSL table with 24 points, the coach feels his players are not receiving the credit they deserve from the media.
