Football‘Unstoppable’: Victor Osimhen Hailed As the Solution to Napoli’s Problems
- Victor Osimhen has found his goalscoring touch again for Napoli
- The Nigerian bagged his first hat-trick of the season against Sassuolo
- Napoli are currently 9th in the Serie A after having a troubled campaign
Victor Osimhen has been described as the man who can save Napoli’s season after the Super Eagles striker netted his first hat-trick of the season in the 6-1 routing of Sassuolo on Wednesday.
The current Italian champions have had an underwhelming title defence this season. The Napolitans are pushing to qualify for Europa rather than defend the Serie A title they won last season.
According to Football Italia, journalist Pierfrancesco Archetti reckons that Osimhen offers more than just goals to Napoli, but his total work rate for the team is what will save their current campaign.
‘He is the solution to Napoli’s problems, but not only. He made errors sometimes but continued to create chances. He even played a long ball for Kvara, who then scored the 5-1.’

Meanwhile, Napoli caretaker coach Francesco Calzona is delighted Osimhen has found his scoring rhythm again after his struggles in the first half of the season with injuries and loss of form, Pulse Sports NG reports.
The 25-year-old forward has been in red-hot form since returning from the AFCON, netting five goals in his last three games for the reigning Serie A champions to take his total tally to 11 league goals this season.

Osimhen matches Maradona’s Napoli record
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Osimhen’s hat-trick against Sassuolo on Wednesday night saw the Nigerian match a record held by Napoli legends Diego Maradona and Attila Sallustro.
The Super Eagles striker joins club legends Maradona and Sallustro as the only Napoli players to score at least 10 Serie A goals in four straight seasons.
Osimhen became the first African player to win the Camponieri last season after netting 26 Serie A goals to help Napoli win the league for the first time in 33 years.
