The dust has barely settled on the Round of 32 but the pairings for the next round of the Nedbank Cup are locked in.

The last 32 of the competition saw 40 goals scored, with 10 games being settled in 90 minutes and the other six needing a penalty shootout to decide the winner.

Orlando Pirates registered the largest winning margin with their 6-0 win over Crystal Lake, while Mamelodi Sundowns came close with their 6-1 demolition of NB La Masia.

Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City are the biggest teams missing from the Last 16, although they were eliminated by teams of contrasting quality.

Eric Tinkler's City fell to SuperSport United on penalties while Chiefs famously lost to Milford FC and Siphamandla Hlezi, as Sports Brief reported.

Nedbank Cup Round of 16 draw

  • Milford FC vs Stellenbosch FC
  • Mamelodi Sundowns vs Maritzburg United
  • Sekhukhune United vs AmaZulu
  • Chippa United vs FC Ravens
  • Orlando Pirates vs Hungry Lions
  • University of Pretoria vs Moroka Swallows
  • Richards Bay FC vs SuperSport United
  • D'General vs TS Galaxy

Champions, Orlando Pirates, will have the quarter-finals in sight, as will Mamelodi Sundowns.

The draw has only thrown out two all-PSL matchups, setting the scene for giant-killing heroics from the likes of Milford FC or Hungry Lions.

The in-form University of Pretoria will be licking their lips at the prospect of hosting a struggling Moroka Swallows, who squeezed past Platinum City Rovers on penalties.

The dates and venues for the Last 16 have yet to be announced but will be done so by organisers in due course.

Cavin Johnson discloses Chiefs camp's mood

Sports Brief also recently reported on the sombre mood in the Kaizer Chiefs camp, as described by Cavin Johnson.

AmaKhosi's hopes of finishing the season with silverware ended after they were bundled out of the Nedbank Cup.

Johnson stated the defeat had been hard for his team to take, revealing the exit had taken its toll on his players.
