Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen, returned to club football after AFCON 2023 to score the equaliser for Napoli in their UEFA Champions League game against Barcelona.

Napoli hosted the Catalans in the first-leg of the UCL Round of 16 clash at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Wednesday (February 21).

The Nigerian international scored an equaliser in the 75th minute after Robert Lewandowski had given the visitors the lead on the hour mark.

The Polish veteran is regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation due to his achievements with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, and now Barcelona.

After witnessing Osimhen's performance against his team, La Blaugrana's Ilkay Gundogan compared the Super Eagles striker and Lewandowski, according to Tribal Football, as per Soccernet.

"Both are great strikers; they know where the goal is and how to score, and they are good at finishing. "I think Robert [Lewandowski] adjusts well to our game; he knows how to control the ball in tough conditions.

The former Manchester City midfielder added: "Osimhen knows how to be fierce when he has a player on him, but also, if they have different qualities, they are two world-class footballers."

Gundogan and his Barcelona teammates will welcome the Italian side to the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium for the second-leg clash on Tuesday, March 12.
