The former West Ham star stated that Osimhen's standards had dropped and described the Nigerian as being different from the player he was six months ago.
"Osimhen was the one this period last year. Everyone was looking at, and then he's fallen off a little bit," the former England international said.
Cole believes Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund has a chance and feels others will emerge from his 'group' of strikers.
"Dusan Vlahovic is very good technically and a good finisher. Darwin Nunez does unbelievably well with his all-round game, and he needs to brush up on that side."
The former Chelsea star also said the Nigerian international would be his preferred option for the Blues if they were to sign a striker in the summer.
