Barcelona legend Dani Alves has been thrown behind bars after he was found guilty of 'forcing himself onto' a woman.
Alves is said to have committed the offence on New Year's Eve in 2022 at a Barcelona nightclub.
According to Sky Sports, the right-back has been in custody since his arrest for the offence in January 2023.
The publication reports that a Spanish court has since delivered a verdict on the matter, sentencing the football icon to four years and six months in prison.

The former Brazil international has also been ordered to pay his victim €150,000 in compensation and court costs.
While the 40-year-old has the right to appeal against the sentence, he will still be expected to spend time behind bars.
Marca reports that Alves was held at Brians 2 Prison, where he was remanded awaiting his sentencing.
He is expected to continue serving his jail term at the facility, depending on the course the matter will take after his sentencing.
A look inside Brian 2 Prison
Apparently, Brian 2 Prison is not a typical correctional institution.
Likened to a 'Hilton' hotel, the facility has some incredible features to ensure the lives of prisoners are comfortable.
The prison, which is just over 20 miles away from Barcelona city centre, features a massive swimming pool to keep convicts cool during the summer.
The boarding rooms are shared between two inmates, with Alves reportedly set to share his with a former bodyguard of Brazil icon Ronaldinho.

So luxurious is the facility that the famous computer programmer John McAfee disclosed how pleasantly he was surprised by the conditions.
McAfee, who died in its walls in 2021, likened the prison to a hotel.
While the facility affords its inmates some sought of comfort, it has previously been in the news for the wrong reasons.
