  • Sead Ramovic says Rulani Mokwena is lying about South Africa coach Hugo Broos
  • Ramovic says Mokwena never called Broos because there was no apology ever said
  • The Sundowns boss allegedly went into the Bafana dressing room after facing DR Congo

TS Galaxy head coach, Sead Ramovic, has launched an accusation against Rulani Mokwena, alleging falsehoods regarding a supposed conversation between Mokwena and South Africa head coach Hugo Broos.

Ramovic vehemently addressed the ongoing dispute with Mokwena, refuting his assertion that he had spoken to Broos regarding the 'Mourinho of Africa' comment.

Contrary to the Mamelodi Sundowns boss' claim that Broos had apologized after their conversation, the TS Galaxy manager challenged the accuracy of the Sundowns manager's account.

“He [Rulani] never called Broos, and he [Broos] never apologised to Rulani. This is a big lie, but this is what I don’t deal with. Sundowns have to deal with a coach that put out some stories that are not true," he said, as quoted by iDiski Times.

With the Belgian manager's permission, Ramovic disclosed details of a conversation with Broos, contradicting Mokwena's narrative. Challenging Mokwena's credibility further, Ramovic suggested seeking confirmation from Broos himself.

He criticized Mokwena's conduct, particularly his intrusion into the Bafana dressing room after the third-pace AFCON 2023 match against Congo, questioning the respect shown towards colleagues.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are currently focused on preparations in Mauritania for an upcoming CAF Champions League fixture against Nouadhibou on Saturday, February 24.

This altercation follows previous public critiques directed at Mokwena by Broos and Ramovic. According to Goal, the 71-year-old reportedly likened Mokwena to a 'local Mourinho' who 'pretended to be God,' highlighting tensions within the South African football landscape.

In response to these criticisms, Mokwena adopted a diplomatic approach, addressing both Ramovic and Broos directly during recent press conferences, seeking to navigate the complexities of professional football and interpersonal relationships within the sport.

Mokwena attracting interest from abroad

Sports Brief reported that Rulani Mokwena was attracting interest overseas following South Africa's incredible 2023 AFCON.

Most of the Bafana players play under the young tactician, and they were some of the best players in the team.

South Africa's entire back five plays for the PSL giants, with 10 players receiving call-ups.
