Despite being linked with several players, Kaizer Chiefs did not sign anyone during the January transfer window.

Khanyisa Mayo, Fawaaz Basadien, and Siphesihle Mkhize were linked with Amakhosi, but none came on board.

This week, the club have secured the signature of youngster, Kamogelo Malefo, from Tiki Taka Sports Academy.

The exciting prospect will join the Under-19 squad, having caught the eye of coaches with his superb finishing ability, according to the South African.

The report adds that the 18-year-old bagged an incredible 16 goals and 18 assists in just 18 matches last season.

Tiki Taka Sports Academy confirmed the news and said the player stood out.

"We are happy to announce that Kamogelo Malefo has officially joined the Kaizer Chiefs Under-19 Development. Kamogelo showcased his exceptional skills and talent during the assessment process, standing out as a true standout among his peers."

Chiefs will certainly be hoping Malefo can develop into a serious attacker for their senior team. The PSL giants have scored just 16 goals in 17 league games. Their top scorer, Pule Mmodi, has scored four league goals this season.

Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs?

Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs could hire Pitso Mosimane at the end of the season when he leaves Saudi Arabia.

The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns coach is currently coaching Abha Club in the Saudi Pro League and has been tasked with keeping in the first division.

Amakhosi have yet to appoint a permanent manager since the departure of Molefi Ntseki, with Cavin Johnson taking charge on an interim basis.

Mosimane's son shines for Kaizer Chiefs youth

Sports Brief previously reported on Mosimane's son, Reatlegile Mosimane's standout performance for the Kaizer Chiefs Under-13 team in the Gauteng Development League.

Reatlegile scored a goal and provided two assists against Kathorus Hyper Academy in his team's 4-0 win, altering talent scouts about his depth of talent.

In 2021, reports claimed he was on trial with Barcelona's La Masia academy. However, it was clarified he was merely training with a satellite team in Cairo during his school holidays.
