Ayew hails Eto’o and Drogba’s impact

Meanwhile, Samuel Eto’o and Didier Drogba have been hailed as Africa’s biggest football influencers following their achievements for their respective clubs and countries by Ghana captain Andre Ayew, Ghana Soccernet reports.

Ayew believes the Cameroon and Ivory Coast football legends had a significant influence on young African players, including himself while growing up.

Eto'o played for Barcelona and a number of other prominent clubs, including Inter Milan, winning numerous titles during his career, while Drogba achieved a similar feat playing for Chelsea in the Premier League.

Eto'o resignation as FA boss rejected

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Executive Council of FECAFOOT unanimously rejected Samuel Eto'o's resignation as president of the Cameroonian Football Federation.

Following the Indomitable Lions' Round of 16 Africa Cup of Nations exit, the former Barcelona and Inter Milan attacker has faced heavy scrutiny from Cameroonian football fans.

Only three years after taking over as president of the federation, the two-time African champion chose to step down.
