Mamelodi Sundowns proved too strong for MM Platinum, popularly known as NB La Masia, in a Nedbank Cub clash on Tuesday evening, February 20.
The Brazilians began their Nedbank Cup quest with a Round of 32 clash with NB La Masia away from home.
It was Gaston Sirino who was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick in the highly entertaining encounter.
The Uruguay-born winger opened the scoring in the 18th minute; Matias Esquivel doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, and five minutes later, it was 3-0 to the away side courtesy of a fine strike by Terrence Mashego.

Fuad Johnson pulled one back for the hosts in the 36th minute, but it did not take long before Sirino grabbed his brace.
It was 4-1 at half-time, and upon return from the tunnel, Sundowns continued the rout as Lebohang Maboe registered his name on the scoresheet in the 49th minute.
Gaston Sirino wrapped up his man-of-the-match performance with another fine strike in the 70th minute to complete his hat-trick. It ended NB La Masia 1-6 Mamelodi Sundowns.
Reacting to the victory, Sundowns' manager Rhulani Mokwena praised the opponent's effort and congratulated his own team. Mokwena said:
"Congratulations to La Masia. I like their coach, they are a very good team, and they play very good football, and I wish them the very best. I'm happy with my boys, I'm happy with the second half. Good overall team performance."
