  • Petr Cech is, without a doubt, one of the greatest goalkeepers in history
  • However, he has ranked three keepers who he contends are the greatest
  • The ex-Chelsea ace included a Manchester United legend in his GOAT list

Chelsea legend Petr Cech has named the three greatest goalkeepers of all time.

Cech is widely regarded as one of the best shotstoppers of his generation, thanks to his incredible Premier League career.

The former Czech Republic international is the 14th most capped player in Premier League history, having made over 400 appearances in the English top flight during his career.

He also holds the record for the most clean sheets by a goalkeeper in the EPL, making him one of the best shotstoppers in the history of the game.

Be that as it may, the former Arsenal star still contends there are three goalkeepers who are potentially better than him.

Petr Cech names greatest keepers in history

While appearing on Monday Night Football, Cech named three legendary goalkeepers he believes are the greatest of all time.

In a video shared on X by Sky Sports Premier League, the 41-year-old named Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon, Bayern icon Manuel Neuer, and Manchester United great Peter Schmeichel as the GOAT keepers.

"Definitely I put Gigi Buffon up there. Definitely Neuer will be in there," he said.
"It's always difficult to leave so many great ones out, but Peter Schmeichel will be my choice there as well," he added.

According to GiveMeSports, Buffon had a nearly three-decade career, making a total of 1151 appearances for club and country.

The Italian legend smashed the record for the most expensive goalkeeper when Juventus splashed close to £50m to sign him in 2001.

Neuer, meanwhile, won the 2014 World Cup with Bayern Munich, while Schmeichel revolutionised goalkeeping during his illustrious career with the Red Devils in the 1990s.

The Dane won four Premier League titles with United and the Champions League.
