  • The Nigerian striker has missed 12 games for Nottingham Forest in the league this season
  • Awoniyi's recent injury problems have not stopped him from being one of the best strikers

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has edged Manchester City star, Erling Haaland, in one of the top statistics in the English Premier League since last season.

The Nigerian international missed the recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury, with his progress at Nottingham Forest hindered due to his time on the sidelines.

Despite the injury problems, the Super Eagles striker has scored 16 goals in the English top flight league, which is way below Haaland's 52 goals in that time frame.
