  • Clubs are scrambling for the signature of Zimbabwean, Khama Billiat
  • Dynamos FC is leading the race in the pursuit of ex-Kaizer Chiefs star
  • He could also transfer to Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum Stars

In the race to secure Khama Billiat's talents, there's no shortage of contenders vying for his signature.

The former Kaizer Chiefs player has been on the lookout for a new club since departing the South African team, with several clubs eager to bring him on board.

Zimbabwe Premier League powerhouse, Dynamos FC, are reportedly leading the charge in pursuit of Billiat.

While the specifics of their offer remain undisclosed, it's clear they are keen to secure his services. However, they're not alone in their efforts.

Fellow Zim clubs, Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum, have joined the race and are eager to bolster their squads, as reported by Far Post.

Ngezi, fresh off their 2023 Zimbabwean Championship win, are looking to make a splash in their debut season in the CAF Champions League.

On the other hand, Manica Diamonds has reportedly put forth an enticing offer of R370 000 [$20 000] in hopes of luring Billiat to their team.

Despite having an initial agreement with Dynamos, the 33-year-old has decided to explore his options further, as reported by The Herald.

Billiat's career has been marked by success, particularly during his time in the DStv Premiership, where he claimed the title of PSL Player of the Season in 2016.

He was a finalist for the CAF African Player of the Year (based in Africa) in the same year, narrowly missing out to Dennis Onyango.

Billiat ignores move to Saudi Pro League

Last October, Sports Brief reported that Billiat ignored several big money offers, including the Saudi Pro League, and was lining up a move back to Cape Town City.

Chiefs did not renew Billiat’s contract at the end of last season, but the veteran is believed to have received several offers, including from Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Billiat is an award-winning player, having won the PSL Player of the Season, the PSL Players’ Player of the Season, and the PSL Midfielder of the Season accolades.
