South African tactician Pitso Mosimane has reacted to Thabo Nthethe's revelations on why he decided not to join Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates during his playing days.

The former South African international had a good spell with Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns in his heydays.

The 39-year-old won three league titles with the Brazilians and represented Bafana Bafana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

In an interview with GOAL, the former Chippa United defender claimed he opted against a move to one of the Soweto giants due to what he was offered and not because he was a fan of one of the clubs (Orlando Pirates).

"It was because of what they offered me," he said.
"I think, like I was saying, I was old enough to say for me to move with my family down to Gauteng, it has to be something that I'll be happy with.
"So yes, with what I was offered at Mamelodi Sundowns, that's why I ended up coming.
"After I came, in the first season, because I came mid-season of the 2013/14 campaign, and we won the league.
"What I was building in the past ten years of Bloemfontein, it's like it was coming like that, winning the first trophy as a Sundowns player, the following season we won the Nedbank [cup], and I won the league three times."

Mosimane, who was in charge of Sundowns when Nthethe joined the club, has reacted to his claims on social media.

"Top guy. He takes football very seriously and could pass the ball very well. Long, short and diagonals also. Penalty taker and scored a lot of headers. Leader in a team. He will make a good coach."

Mosimane’s first Abha game ends in draw

Sports Brief previously reported that Mosimane's first game as Abha Club coach ended in a draw against Al Taawoun.

Abha Club have 14 points after 19 matches and a languishing in the relegation zone.
