Players with Nigerian roots are thriving in Europe with their clubs.
Luton Town's Elijah Adebayo has been enjoying a stellar campaign in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.
The 26-year-old recently bagged a hat-trick for the Premier League newcomers, and said he would love to suit up for the Super Eagles one day.
Like Ademola Lookman, Adebayo has spent most of his life in England, and had to work hard to play in the Premier League. If he continues to score goals, that Super Eagles call-up will come.

The striker joined Fulham at the age of eight and left at 21. In the next few years, he joined several clubs on loan, before settling at Luton in February 2021.
So far this season, Adebayo has scored nine goals in 28 appearances in all competitions. All his goals have come in the Premier League, per Transfermarkt.
Adebayo on representing Nigeria
Speaking with the Times, Adebayo said he would like to represent Nigeria or England. He added that playing for the Super Eagles would make his mother proud.
“I would like to play for Nigeria. I think it would make my mum happy, make her proud. That’s something we’ve spoken about. Playing for England? It would be a case of whichever comes first. My mum would be proud if I played for Nigeria or England, but Nigeria especially.”
Adebayo also added that he plans to visit Lagos, Nigeria, for the first time since he was a young boy.
Stanley Nwabali: Nigeria’s Goalkeeper Makes Strong Statement Ahead of Showdown With South Africa
FootballNigeria currently has an Avengers-like list of strikers. Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Taiwo Awoniyi, Umar Sadique, Kelechi Iheanacho, Terem Moffi, Paul Onuachu, and have all been capped by the Super Eagles.
Adebayo will, therefore, need to work harder to have a chance of representing Nigeria.
Adebayo bags hat-trick for Luton
Sports Brief earlier reported on Elijah Adebayo scoring a hat-trick for Luton Town against Brighton.
The 26-year-old scored his treble in the 1st, 42nd, and 56th minutes as Luton thrashed Brighton 4-0.
It was Luton Town's first-ever Premier League hat-trick. The club will rely on Adebayo's goals to stay in the league.
