William Troost Ekong is cooling off in Nigeria and spending time with celebrities following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, where he had an awesome tournament for Nigeria.
The 30-year-old, who was named Player of the Tournament, scored three goals in six appearances for Nigeria at the competition as he led the Super Eagles to the silver medal.
Ekong, who was also named in the CAF Best X1 of the competition, was spotted hanging out with Nigerian rapper OdumoduBlvck and gifted the Abuja-based artiste a signed jersey.
OdumoduBlvck was a vocal supporter of the Super Eagles during the AFCON, constantly predicting the team's results during the competition and offering his tactical input during Nigeria’s matches.

Ekong would go ahead to assure the rapper that the Super Eagles will bounce back stronger after losing the AFCON final 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast with the defender scoring Nigeria’s only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles vice-captain Troost-Ekong paid a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, in Uyo on Thursday and was given a warm reception, Complete Sports reports.
The reception was in honour of the 30-year-old defender’s outstanding display at the recently concluded 2023 Africa Cup of Nations where he led Nigeria to claim a silver medal.
Troost-Ekong, who had earlier visited Senate President Godswill Akpabio in his office in Abuja, presented a Super Eagles jersey to Governor Eno during the reception at the government house, Uyo, as a token of appreciation for the state’s unwavering support and encouragement.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Nigeria defender and vice-captain Troost-Ekong is sure that the Super Eagles would mount a strong comeback following their setback to Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles were denied a fourth AFCON title after the Elephants staged a strong comeback to beat Nigeria 2-1 in the final.
Troost-Ekong, who was named player of the tournament, scored the opener for Nigeria at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe.
