He has been linked with a number of top clubs, including Mamelodi Sundowns and English Premier League giants Manchester United.
It was gathered that Sundowns had made a lucrative offer for the talent before he opted to join Cape Town City.
According to Comitis, Witbooi will go on to become a great player, admitting that it is still a long journey ahead.
He told Radio 2000, as per iDiski Times:
“It’s not often that I get excited about a young player. I can’t believe what I’m seeing when I’m watching him playing in the Diski Challange.
“We’re quite excited about that but there’s still a long journey to go.
“I think the sooner we can get this kid to a European club so that they can assess him the better.
“He’s got to go to a club like Barcelona to be honest. That’s the level at which I think he can perform in the years to come.
