The 39-year-old had missed his side's inaugural game of 2024 due to injury, a highly-anticipated friendly clash with Lionel Messi's Inter Miami, which ended in a resounding 6-0 victory for Al-Nassr. Despite watching from the stands, Ronaldo's absence was palpable.

Returning to action in the Riyadh Season Cup final, Cristiano's hopes were dashed as Al-Nassr suffered a two-nil defeat to crosstown rivals Al Hilal.
