Xabi Alonso is arguably the most sought-after manager in the world due to his exploits at Bayer Leverkusen, which could see him end Bayern Munich’s firm hold on the Bundesliga title.
He masterminded a tactical 3-0 win over the current champions at the weekend, which saw his team go five points clear at the top of the table with 13 games to go in the current season.

1. Bayern Munich

The Bavarian giants are notorious for picking the best from other German clubs. Per Bild, they are reportedly eyeing Alonso as the perfect replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who will likely leave the club at the end of the season. The former Spain midfielder played three seasons at Bayern and retired after leaving the club in 2017.
2. Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp is confirmed to leave Liverpool at the end of the season. The club have claimed they are not actively finding a replacement yet but would undoubtedly have a preference list. Alonso, who played five seasons at Anfield, is reportedly top of the list to replace the German.
3. Chelsea
Mauricio Pochettino could be shown the exit door at Chelsea by the end of the season. Per Sports Zone, co-owner, Behdad Eghbali, wanted the 2005 UEFA Champions League winner to replace the Argentine immediately after two consecutive losses to Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Barcelona are in active search for a new manager after Xavi Hernandez announced he will leave the club at the end of the season. Several names have been linked, one of which is the 2010 World Cup winner.
5. Real Madrid
There were reports that Xabi would be Real Madrid’s manager next season, but the news of Carlo Ancelotti extending his contract until 2026 quenched such notions. The dream is certainly not over, and Los Blancos could convince their former player to remain in Germany till there is an opening at the club.
6. Manchester City
Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague, has added Manchester City to the list of clubs the 42-year-old could join. He quoted his agent on the Football News Show, who he claimed listed the clubs his client could manage next if he does well at Leverkusen. Pep Guardiola has a contract to 2025 at the English champions.
