Abha Club coach, Pitso Mosimane, has reacted to Grant Kekana's comment about his mother, Politician Pinky Kekana, support during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Ivory Coast.
The Mamelodi Sundowns defender was a constant member of the South African team at the recently concluded continental football competition in which they finished third place behind Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
Grant's mother is the Deputy Minister in the Presidency, and she was proud of her son's performance against Nigeria in the AFCON semi-final despite being sent off in extra-time.

In an interview after the AFCON, Kekana shared his thoughts on his mother's proud reaction to his performance.
"It shows how proud she is of her son; I always call her imbokodo because she's just been my rock," he said.
"She's the only person who's ever bought me soccer boots, the first to believe in me and allow me to chase my dreams. The only thing she wanted from me was to finish school.
"I run out of words to describe my relationship with her. As much as it looks good on camera and stuff, you know we're always fighting. But it's because she always wants the best from me. So yeah, I'm just happy that she was happy."
Mosimane took to his official X handle to air his views on Grant's remarks about his mother.
"Grant is a top guy, never mind being a top player. As they say, the apple does not fall far away from the tree.💪🏿"
