Despite Arsenal showing clear signs of challenging for the domestic crown, Neville has written off their chances of ending their 20-year wait for the trophy.

According to the Manchester United legend, the north Londoners lack a killer instinct that is necessary to help them keep pace with title rivals.

Arteta responds to Neville

However, Arteta has hit back at Neville's assertion, with the Arsenal boss adamant his side have what it takes to successfully challenge for the Premier League title.

While the Spaniard admitted that his team lacks a proper striker who can lead the goal hunt, he is confident the available lot can get the job done.

"Well that’s a fact that we haven’t had a player that scores 25 or 30 goals in the last however many years," Arteta admitted, per Metro UK.
"But it’s what we have, and within that we believe that we can still be very close [to winning the title]. We’re going to try for sure," he added.

Arsenal hammered West Ham United 6-0 on Sunday, in what was their biggest win away from home in history.

They will be keen to maintain the momentum when they take on Burnley on Saturday, February 17.

Arsenal backed to win the EPL

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Manchester United legend, Dimitar Berbatov, backing Arsenal to win this season's Premier League title.

Despite the apparent stiff competition, Berbatov contends Arsenal are the favourites to lift the Premier League trophy this season.

However, the Bulgarian also had a warning for Arteta's men, noting that Man City cannot just be 'wished away' in the title race.
