Nigerians are still in the mood for celebration after qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles defeated South Africa on penalties after the entire duration of the game, plus extra time, ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jose Peseiro's side went on to win the game 4-2 on penalties, with Stanley Nwabali being the hero for the Super Eagles as he saved two out of Bafana Bafana's four spot-kicks.

In a video shared on social media, Nigerians, still in their celebratory mood, were spotted trooping to Nwabili's father's house after his penalty heroics against the South African national team.

Super Eagles legend hails Nwabali

Sports Brief previously reported that Super Eagles legend Sunday Oliseh has hailed Nwabali as Nigeria’s new hero after his performance against Bafana Bafana.

The former Lobi Stars goalkeeper was named the Man of the Match after the game due to performance.
