However, signs point to the legendary duo hitting rough waters, as the Spanish stalwart omitted to extend birthday greetings to the Portuguese star, opting instead to convey them to Neymar.

Further deepening the intrigue, the former Real Madrid captain even sent well wishes to his Sevilla teammate, Adnan Januzaj.

The start of the Ronaldo-Ramos fallout

Both Neymar and Ronaldo share the same birth date, February 5, albeit with a seven-year gap between them. Ramos has had the opportunity to share a dressing room with both football icons.

The centre-back spent nine seasons (2009-2018) alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid before joining Neymar at PSG from 2021 to 2023.

A potential reason behind the deteriorating friendship between the duo could be Al-Nassr.

Marca reported that the Saudi giants presented a significant offer to bring back the former Real Madrid colleagues together.

However, the Spanish defender declined the enticing offers, choosing a reduced salary package from his childhood club and La Liga side, Sevilla, instead.

PSG stint likely sparked Ronaldo-Ramos issues

The French giants caused a stir by securing Ramos on a free transfer alongside Lionel Messi. Many fans speculated that their shared history with Real Madrid and Barcelona would hinder any potential friendship off the pitch.

However, it transpired that they swiftly transitioned from adversaries to close companions.

Their bond grew so strong that the Spanish defender publicly hailed the Argentine as the greatest player ever, inadvertently overlooking Ronaldo in the process, per SportBible.

Ramos further expressed relief that his 15-year-long rivalry with the Argentine maestro had come to an end. Their camaraderie was evident when they teamed up against the Al-Nassr superstar during a match between PSG and Saudi stars last year.

When Ramos settled GOAT debate

Weighing in on the GOAT debate, Ramos highlighted Messi's quality and conceded that the 2022 World Cup winner is a cut above Ronaldo, Sports Brief reported earlier.

The argument on who between the two football stars is the greatest of all time has often left many football lovers divided.
