Sadio Mane has returned home to his wife following Senegal's Round of 16 elimination at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire.

The Al-Nassr star married 18-year-old Aisha Tamba days before the Teranga Lions jetted off to Yamoussoukro for the defence of the Nations Cup title.

Unfortunately for the Senegalese national team, their journey at the tournament ended at the last 16 after a penalty shootout defeat to the host nation.

In a video shared on social media, Mane is seen happy in the company of his partner as they read messages from his phone. The couple looked to be on social media at that moment.

His marriage with Aisha Tamba received huge attention following the age difference between him and his wife.

Meanwhile, Mane enjoyed a decent Africa Cup of Nations despite his country's early exit, scoring a goal and providing three assists in four matches.

The former Liverpool star expressed disappointment after their defeat to Cote d'Ivoire, claiming the best team won.

"Football is cruel. The God of football was not with us tonight. We gave everything, we did what we had to, even if I think we could have killed the match. But that is not the case, but overall I will say that the best won," he told Wiw Sport.

Mane is expected to return to Saudi Arabia next week to rejoin his Al-Nassr teammates as preparations begin ahead of the resumption of the league, which has been on a break due to the Asian Cup in Qatar.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Al-Nassr star, Sadio Mane married his partner Aisha Tamba in a lovely wedding ceremony in Dakar on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

The wedding was said to have been attended by friends, family, former players, and even current members of the Senegal national team.

The former Liverpool star was in Dakar earlier in the year to commission a stadium before heading to the altar with his wife.
