Victor Osimhen is unbothered about his lack of goals at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after once again playing a crucial role in helping the Super Eagles qualify for the semi-finals.
Some fans have harshly scrutinised the 25-year-old forward after only scoring once in all of Nigeria’s five games at the competition as the team battles to win yet another continental trophy.
However, Osimhen, who admitted he would love to score more goals, has hit back, claiming he is pleased with Nigeria’s success and not bothered about his scoring form, Soccernet reports.
“Those who know me, they know I don’t put myself before the team. If my goal comes, they come. I want to help the team with goals, of course, but if I am not scoring, I am defending. If I am not defending, I am fighting for them.”
