Fury was forced to withdraw from the fight after he suffered a cut in training.

The WBC Heavyweight Champion needed urgent medical attention and got stitches for the cut which opened above his eye, Sky Sports reported. Fury was training for his title unification bout against the Ukrainian, which was due to take place in Saudi Arabia.

With the fight that was due to take place on February 17 being postponed, Ngannou saw his chance to comment and angle towards a title shot for himself.

How Francis Ngannou reacted to the news

Having made his professional debut against Fury, the Cameroonian will next take on Anthony Joshua on March 8 in another heavyweight bout.

The winner of that fight was due to take on the winner of Fury and Usyk, but with the title fight being postponed, Ngannou pitched a new title fight idea.

Taking to social media after the announcement that Fury had pulled out, Ngannou suggested that he and Joshua should fight for the title next.

Ngannou surprises many during Fury bout

While Ngannou is a former UFC Heavyweight champion, many didn't expect him to perform so well in the boxing world. The Cameroonian surprised many with his performance against Fury in a non-title bout, even knocking down the champion in the third round.

Fury was declared the winner of that bout, but many felt that Ngannou was robbed of a victory.

Ngannou confident in his knockout power

Francis Ngannou is confident that his knockout power will be too much for Anthony Joshua to handle.

The former UFC heavyweight champions will take on Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight clash in Saudi Arabia.

Having knocked down Tyson Fury, Ngannou believes that he can do the same to Joshua, Sports Brief reported.
