Following the thrilling 2-0 victory over Cameroon, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) anti-doping body promptly conducted surprise tests on several Nigerian players.

Notable names like Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, and Moses Simon were among the eight randomly selected players subjected to testing by the anti-doping committee.

While random testing is a routine practice in football, a recent report from media outlet Brila.net revealed that Osimhen, a pivotal figure in the crucial win against Cameroon, underwent an additional round of testing, with both sets of results confirming negative outcomes.

This report has sparked widespread discussion among fans in anticipation of the upcoming match against Angola, with many expressing their frustration on social media regarding the tournament's anti-doping procedures.

Nigerians’ react to Osimhen doping tests

@Olatu125 expressed visible frustration, commenting,

"What exactly are they searching for?"

@Bamitale_ola took a slightly spiritual tone, writing,

"Let them persist, and they'll witness us clinching the trophy 🏆 by God's grace."

@IbrahimHorlami1 also stated,

"Do they think we are cheats? Regardless of their intentions, we will still soar."

Despite the repeated tests the players have undergone, Nigerians eagerly await another exceptionally spirited performance from their team as they prepare to face Angola.

Sports Brief in another report stated Nigeria’s Super Eagles rivals, Angola, have received crucial boosts ahead of their quarter-final tie.
