The Nigeria Football Federation will reward each player of the Super Eagles with an amount of $30,000 for qualifying for the knockout stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria secured a place in the Round of 16 after finishing second in Group A with seven points, behind Equatorial Guinea and above Guinea-Bissau and hosts, Ivory Coast.
According to the Daily Post, the initial system would have seen each player get a $5,000 per-match bonus on the road to the final, but this was replaced with a lump sum payment for each round of the competition.
The NFF also paid the players an allowance of 20 days since their arrival at the team’s camp for the AFCON and they will also receive a bonus for the Round of 16 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

The monetary reward will come as a boost for the Super Eagles ahead of their quarter-final clash against Angola on Friday, February 2, as they seek to win a fourth AFCON title.
NFF promise final bonus for players
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has promised each Super Eagles player will get an additional $30,000 if the team reaches the Africa Cup of Nations final, Score Nigeria reports.
The three-time AFCON champions have failed to reach the final of the continental competition since they last won the tournament in 2013 under the late great coach, Stephen Keshi.
If the Super Eagles defeat Angola in their quarter-final tie tonight (February 2), they will meet the winners of the Cape Verde versus South Africa game in the tournament semi-finals.

Sports Brief also previously reported that Nigeria is chasing a fourth AFCON title as they prepare for a quarter-final match against Angola's Palancas Negras.
The Super Eagles are riding high on enthusiasm after surpassing their performance in 2021 by defeating perennial rivals, Cameroon in a Round of 16 clash.
Angola, on the other hand, have made history this year by defeating Namibia in the competition's Round of 16, their first knockout round win since 2012.
